Principal study areas include water footprint assessment, sustainability and management of water resources, renewable energy technologies, and hydrokinetic turbine design. He had been a guest researcher in University of Twente, Department of Civil Engineering and Management, Multidisciplinary Water Management Chair, Netherlands and a visiting scholar at the California State University (Chico), Geological and Environmental Sciences Department. Currently, teaching students in Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics (undergraduate); Water Footprint Method and Integrated Water Resources Management (graduate). Supervising M.Sc and Ph.D students in the water footprint research group (BTU-WF).
